This video of Elvis Costello’s father rocking out with his band has become my go-to when I feel glum. I’ve been playing it a lot this past week. Clearly, middle-class white British men were among the world’s least-oppressed peoples in the early 1960s but this is so joyous. I especially love the raised eyebrow when he warns about DANGER. Whoa-oo-oo!
